Jennifer Kane

Jennifer Kane leads the sustainable energy advocacy strategy at the Center for Energy Efficiency & Sustainability at Trane Technologies. With her regulatory expertise and engineering background, she drives sustainable, practical, and technically sound carbon policies for buildings and transportation, specializing in energy efficiency and electrification. Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering with a concentration in energy and the environment from Rochester Institute of Technology and is currently studying at the Colorado School of Mines towards a Master of Engineering in Advanced Energy Systems.

Jennifer works closely with the federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, national labs, utilities, standards bodies, and NGOs to promote the adoption of emerging clean energy technologies and services that reduce emissions from the building and transportation sector. She is a LEED Green Associate, an active ASHRAE member at her local Rocky Mountain Chapter, and the chair of the AHRI Standards Technical Committee for Decarbonization.

In her seven-year tenure of experience in the HVAC industry she has served on ASHRAE standard committees for indoor air quality, climate change, and commercial building energy efficiency. Jennifer also worked as a certification and regulatory engineer at the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute developing performance rating standards and engaging with regulatory agencies on the transition to low global-warming potential refrigerants, improved energy efficiency, and improved indoor environmental quality.
